HafrikTV respects your privacy and has developed this Privacy Policy to present our commitment to protecting your privacy and to explain how we collect, use, and share Personal Data from or about you in connection with your use of the HafrikTV Service.

By using the HafrikTV site and accepting the User Agreement you also agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, you must not use the HafrikTV site.

We will not use or share your personal information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy does not apply to the personal information we collect by other means or from other sources. Capitalized terms that are not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meaning given in our Terms of Use.

What information do we collect?

HafrikTV uses personal information we collect to provide the Service, analyze how the Service is used, diagnose service or technical problems, maintain security, personalize content, remember information to help you efficiently access your account, monitor aggregate metrics such as the total number of visitors, traffic, and demographic patterns, and track User Content and users as necessary to comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and other applicable laws.

User-Provided Information: information (such as your name, email and postal addresses, telephone number, and region of residence) that you provide by completing forms on HafrikTV, including if you register as a user of the Services, subscribe to our newsletters, upload or submit any material through HafrikTV, or request any information; your login and password details, in connection with the account sign-in process; details of any requests or transactions you make through the Services; information about your activity on and interaction with HafrikTV, such as your IP address and the type of device or browser you use; information that you submit to HafrikTV in the form of comments, contributions to discussions, or messages to other users; and communications you send to us (for example, when you ask for support, send us questions, or report an issue).

You also provide us with information on User Content you post to the Service. Your questions, answers, and other contributions to the Service, and metadata about them (such as when you posted them), are publicly viewable on the Service, along with your name. This information may be searched by search engines and be republished elsewhere on the Web in accordance with our Terms of Use.

The Data collected by us through our Service may be sent to and stored on servers located in data centers primarily located in Australia, or in the United States and Japan.

We collect Personal Data you provide to us when you interact with the HafrikTV Service, including when you sign up for an account, upload Content, create a playlist, or share a playlist with others. For instance, when you register to use the HafrikTV Service, you may provide your name, email address, birth date, gender, and other similar information. If you are a member of HafrikTV Pro, HafrikTV may also collect your payment information, such as your address, bank account, or online payment system details and authentication information, as well as billing and contact details depending on the payment system you choose. Note that we do not collect your credit card details. Credit Card is processed by Stripe. In addition, HafrikTV may collect the information you provide to us when you apply to a verified member, such as your driver’s license photocopy.

We may also collect information from or about the computers, phones, tablets, or other devices where you access the HafrikTV Service, depending on the permissions you have granted. Such information may include your IP address, your device type, the settings of the browser, and the operating system you use (such as the type and version of an operating system or its language settings), this information will show on Settings >> Manage Sessions.

If you choose to log in, access, or otherwise connect to the HafrikTV Service or contact HafrikTV through a third-party service (e.g. Facebook, Loong NZ), the such method being completely optional and subject to your exclusive decision, we may, in order to execute your choice of a log-in or contact method, collect your email, gender, birthday as well as any other information you make public using that service. Depending on the third-party log-in service used and its current implementation policies.

How we protect your information

This data will not be publicly displayed or revealed to other users: any payment information you provide; your password details; your IP address; your phone number(unless you provide your contact information in your posts); communications you send to us (for example, when you ask for support, send us questions, or report an issue); We don’t give your personal information to any third-party services, except when it’s necessary to provide HafrikTV Services (like when we partner with payment processors). When we share data with third-party services that support our delivery of the HafrikTV Services, we require that they protect your personal information to the same standards we do.

We do reserve the right to disclose personal information when we believe that doing so is reasonably necessary to comply with the law or law enforcement, to prevent fraud or abuse, or to protect HafrikTV’s legal rights.

What your information is in public

When you create an account, we create a profile page for you on HafrikTV, containing your account name, and a list of content you have posted. Whenever your account name appears on HafrikTV (for instance, when you react to someone’s videos), people can click your account name to see your profile. The profile is searchable on HafrikTV or via search engines like Google. Here are some of the things that will be publicly viewable on your profile, or elsewhere on HafrikTV: the account name; any information you choose to add to your profile (like a picture, bio, your location, or your role); videos you’ve posted; playlists you’ve created; any reactions you’ve posted on HafrikTV; if you have “subscribed” a people or a playlist.

How we use your personal information

We will use the personal information you provide to: identify you when you sign in to your account; enable us to provide you with the Services; send you communications we think you may find useful, but only in accordance with your membership preferences; enable us to contact you regarding any question you make through the Services; analyze the use of the Services and the people visiting to improve our content and Services, and use for other purposes that we may disclose to you when we request your information.

We take securing your data and preserving your privacy very seriously. We never post anything to your Facebook, LinkedIn, or other social accounts without your permission. We do not and will not sell your personal data.

Your choices about your information

You may, of course, decline to submit personally identifiable information through the Service, in which case HafrikTV may not be able to provide certain services to you. You may update or correct your account information and membership preferences at any time by logging in to your account.

Who can create an Ad campaign on HafrikTV?

Creating campaigns is currently open to advertisers over the age of 18 in New Zealand. Agencies, businesses, and other organizations can also use HafrikTV to promote their brand. People under 18 (or the legal age in your jurisdiction) are not permitted to use HafrikTV on their own, and so this privacy policy makes no provision for their use of HafrikTV.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

If we change our privacy policies and procedures, we will post those changes on this page to keep you aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we may disclose it.
